In Search Of: the Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie Part 37: Chocolate Chip Cookies (no fancy title)

I found these on another food blog, though I decided to make them without the sticks and just as cookies.

  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt (didn’t use because we used salted butter)
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

1. Preheat oven to 350F.

2. In a large bowl, beat together butter, olive oil, brown sugar and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Add flour and baking soda (and salt, if using). Add chocolate chips.

3. Drop by spoonful onto baking sheet and bake 12 to 14 min.

Verdict: We made one dozen small shaped cookies and one dozen large muffin-top sized cookies. They would good, very moist, but the olive oil (I am guessing it was the olive oil) gave it a very mild off-putting taste.
