This is a Kraft recipe (I found it in one of their magazines, but I can’t seem to find it online to link to it).
- 2 cups butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 200g of Toblerone chocolate bars, broken into pieces
- 3 tablespoons icing sugar (this was for decoration; we didn’t use it)
1. Preheat oven to 350F.
2. Beat butter and sugar together. Mix flour and cornstarch. Gradually add to butter mixture. Stir in chocolate pieces.
3. Drop by spoonful onto baking sheet. Bake 20 to 25 min, or until lightly browned. Cool completely and sprinkle with icing sugar (if desired).
Verdict: Shortbread cookies aren’t my favourite, but I enjoyed them. My sister loves shortbread cookies and gave these cookies her stamp of approval, though she didn’t think that the chocolate added anything to them.
